Every family is different, I get that. But I know it’s fun to see what other families do just to get ideas.
So here’s a list of our families favorite toys!
My kids play with these Every. Single. Day. I wish I was exaggerating. These are by far the most played with toy at our house in the last 7 years.
Like the Magna-tiles, Keva planks are versatile in their application. We got this set for Christmas and my kids love it. They’ve built buildings, cool designs, used them as money or food.
My husband grew up with K’nex and really wanted his kids to have some. My boys use these as much as the Magna-tiles and have created so many cool things. They’re favorite creations are swords and shield.
Baby doll
My daughter plays with her doll often. She loves pretending to be mom and feeds her baby, changes her diaper, takes her on walks.
Or LED boards. We use these mostly for church and other out of the house activities. But sometimes my kids bring them out at home and create games on them.
These are another toy for mostly outside the home. My boys always just scribbled but my daughter actually takes her time doing the pictures. I use to be skeptical about paying for the Melissa and Doug brand but after using cheaper options and these one, I will invest in these. They last so much longer so I feel I get my money’s worth out of them.
We love our Yoto mini!! It really is the best screen free toy for kids. We have this booklet that we keep all our Yoto cards in making it easy for even our the year old to choose a book to listen to. You can read more about our thoughts here.
My oldest just learned to read and we got him is own kindle. The kids have been using one of my old ones for a long time but they love looking at books and mostly listening to audiobooks. Unfortunately you can only get audiobooks through Audible for the kindles but once you own them it’s worth it plus it’s nice to get library books on the kindle too. You can read more about our kindle here.
We don’t get this out often because we don’t have the space, but this tent is a hit with the kids!
Legos are just classic, aren’t they? We’ve been collecting them over time but they make a wonderful quite time toy (most the time 😉
Bonus!
I was late to the hype of this particular doll house, mostly due to the age of my kids and the timing of this doll house being available. But it doesn’t disappoint. My daughter uses it as a house, an oven, or beds for her dolls. My boys use it frequently in their games as well! I don’t plan to do anything fancy with it, I quite like it’s simplicity that invites such creativity.
There you have it. Our most played with and loved toys!
