I am I huge Sarah Eden fan! My mom, sister and I have been reading her books for years starting with the beloved jonquil brothers. So any new book of hers I am excited to read.
I wasnt sure what to expect, she had mentioned this was a new thing for her to try (time travel) and it shows a little.
I was hooked from the first page and was really excited to see where it was going to go. This book is much bigger than most of hers.
This is a cute story though I feel the main characters didn’t have enough time together to build their relationship deeper. I was a bit turned off at first by the way Armitage spoke, it took a couple chapters to get use to it. It did cause me to Invision him more like a guy from the south here than a handsome English man on the sea. By the end of the book I didn’t mind and really loved him and the whole town.
It was fun to have the main lead, Lili speak French often. I feel I cheated and had my husband ( a fluent French speaker) translate for me. However, by the end of the book Lili is not speaking as much or translates most of the French.
The ending leaves on a cliff hanger which was a little disappointing to be left with questions. However, being familiar with her work and knowing there’s another book coming out (can preorder here) I assume there will be details in the other books that answer these questions. I fully expect to see certain characters again and can’t wait!
Clean romance book that I will recommend to everyone.
