Where to Find Christ

It kinda bothers me when people say you can find God in only church, the scriptures or other sacred places (depending on the religion).

Because as a young mom with young kids I’m hardly there.

I read my scriptures daily and I pray often. I make it to church but I only get so much out of it. And the temple, well when you live 40+ mins away and have a nursing baby, you don’t get to go much.

Don’t worry, I have beat myself up over it. I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of “I wish I was better, I had more time, if it really mattered I’d make more time for it. You are probably thinking those things of me right now! Or maybe you think the same thing about yourself.

For a while I didn’t like the justification that God meets women where they are, because that seemed like a cop out.

But I was wrong. Because seasons change. In one season Christ comes to me and in other season I go up to Him.

And that’s okay.

This season of my life He meets me in the kitchen, the shower, while I nurse my baby.

In a day of despair and asking the Lord where I could find Him, this was the response:

Look for me in stories
You’ll find me in the trees and in the wind
Look for me in the mountains
You’ll find me in the songs and art
